Green aventurine was discovered in the 17th century and has been associated with luck and fortune ever since. The name is derived from the Italian phrase “All’Avventura” which translates to “by chance.” It comes in many different colors, but the green variety gets its hue from inclusions of fuscite particles. Due to its microcrystalline structure it’s a wonderful stone for lapidary artists to carve and it’s often found as cabochons and statuettes.
